DeskZap
About

Built by Hot Rocket Software, a UK software company.

DeskZap is remote desktop software for UK teams and IT professionals. The company behind it is Hot Rocket Software Ltd, a small UK software company founded in 2025 to build practical remote access infrastructure for the teams that are too small to fight an enterprise procurement process and too serious to settle for a free-tier tool.

01 / Story

Why we built DeskZap.

Hot Rocket Software was set up because the remote desktop market has two extremes and very little in between. At one end, free-tier browser-based tools that work for occasional personal use but fall apart the moment remote access becomes a daily operational workflow. At the other, enterprise suites with annual seat licensing, value-added reseller relationships and a procurement process that takes longer than the actual deployment.

The UK teams we wanted to build for — small businesses, IT consultancies, agencies, in-house IT teams supporting under a hundred endpoints — do not fit either model. They want predictable per-user pricing in GBP, a first useful session inside five minutes, audit trails that satisfy clients, and a self-host option when data residency matters. None of that was unreasonable to ask for, and none of it required an enterprise product.

DeskZap is the result. It is not a reinvention of remote desktop; the technology is well understood. It is a remote desktop tool built around the constraints of the teams we know best, with the pricing shape and the operational defaults that those teams need to do their jobs.

02 / Values

How we work.

Practical, not fashionable

Every feature should solve a real workflow problem for a UK IT lead, consultant or business owner. If a feature only matters at an enterprise sales briefing, it does not ship in the product yet.

Predictable pricing

Per-user annual pricing in GBP. No per-device fees, no surprise renewals, no commercial-use detection, no per-concurrent-session mathematics.

Honest about scope

DeskZap is built for UK SMBs, IT consultancies and agencies. We say so on the website. If you are a large enterprise, TeamViewer may be the right answer and we will say that too.

Self-hosting is a first-class option

The Advanced tier includes a self-hostable control plane because some teams need full data residency. It is not a marketing afterthought.

03 / Team

The people behind it.

Hot Rocket Software is intentionally small. We hire slowly and focus on the people closest to the product and the customers.

Founder & Senior App Architect
